i am super excited to share that i have finally found a lipstick that i love! you may recall me saying that i don't normally wear lipstick or lip gloss, when detailing my normal makeup routine. truth is, i get tired of reapplying lip gloss and i've never found a shade of lipstick that really works for me.
i've been inspired by beautiful, bold shades, like the ones pictured below, and trying to emulate the look, i've worn many a color that wasn't right for me. the salesperson at nordstrom insisted the chanel "clos du bois" looked amazing, but half a tube later, i'm still not convinced. i've realized i'm just not a bright-lip kinda girl.
enter the fabulous annie at sephora who introduced me to buxom big and healthy lipstick by bare escentuals. never in a million years would i have chosen this non-traditional lipstick on my own, but i have to admit, it's beyond awesome. a lip liner, lipstick and lip plumper all in one, this pen-sized tube, comes with a sharpener built in. we tried several shades (and several brands) and i realized after much debate that, yep, i really like the soft, pink, unobtrusive shades. opaque, but subtle, "london" was the color for me.
i suppose part and parcel with my casual and simple wardrobe is an understated lip, despite my attempts to be more bold. and guess what? i'm supremely happy with a look others might find boring. lesson learned: you have to do, wear, be what's right for you and that is more fabulous than any tube of lipstick!
