the sweetest holiday treats

11 December 2012
i love the idea of making a sweet treat for loved ones during the holiday season. not to get all philosophical on you, but food nourishes the body and the act of sharing food can nourish the soul, so to me, there's something particularly special about preparing food for someone.

especially when said food is decorated or wrapped with care. it feels more like a gift if the presentation is pretty, don't you think?

i'll be making rhi's hot cocoa mix next weekend, so stay tuned for pics!

I made homemade hot cocoa mix last year for friends. It was a big hit! I love the bow cookie tree!

I love that philosophical tidbit you shared, actually. I hadn't really considered that, but when you said it-- it's so right on. I love that thought behind gifting people food items, and the packaging and presentation of all these things is perfection!

When in doubt, always give someone hot cocoa mix! It's always a hit, especially if they have children.
